He Told Us So
What we see for the first time in the life of Jesus, God told us from the first days in the Old Testament.
Matthew loves showing how God’s prophecy turns into our history.
It’s his way of saying, “He told us so.”
But prophecy is not a divine, “I told you so.”
It’s a reassuring word that says, “Yesterday God told us about today, so today we can trust him about tomorrow.”
As we study the Gospel of Matthew, we want to gaze into the beauty of the life of Jesus, so we can laugh at the days to come.
We want to rejoice in the one who has overcome the world because he holds us in the palm of his hands.
